Wisehockey’s automatic real-time hockey analytics platform was implemented in KHL league-wide last summer. Even though the 2019—2020 season was finished early due to the global pandemic, the smart puck system proved its capability in everyday use. KHL published a review of its first year with league-wide real-time statistics, and the future looks bright!
Wisehockey CEO Tomi Mikkonen explains how the automatic real-time sport analytics platform works. He also has a vision for the future of the product. Wisehockey’s success is the product of hard work and putting latest technologies to the test.
“The analytics system has been very reliable in use. I hope that some young hockey enthusiasts would step forward and start innovating new ways to use smart puck data.” The Chairman of Liiga‘s Board of Directors, Heikki Hiltunen, shared his thoughts and vision for automatic real-time hockey analytics.
The Wisehockey system will be used in Kiekkobussi Arena, Finland, beginning from the fall 2020. Lempäälän Kisa (LeKi) will be the world’s first team outside major ice hockey leagues to implement smart pucks.
