Wisehockey CEO Tomi Mikkonen explains how the automatic real-time sport analytics platform works. He also has a vision for the future of the product. Wisehockey’s success is the product of hard work and putting latest technologies to the test.
“The analytics system has been very reliable in use. I hope that some young hockey enthusiasts would step forward and start innovating new ways to use smart puck data.” The Chairman of Liiga‘s Board of Directors, Heikki Hiltunen, shared his thoughts and vision for automatic real-time hockey analytics.
The Wisehockey system will be used in Kiekkobussi Arena, Finland, beginning from the fall 2020. Lempäälän Kisa (LeKi) will be the world’s first team outside major ice hockey leagues to implement smart pucks.
Every game of the 2019/20 KHL season will feature smart pucks and chips on the players’ jerseys. These will provide more advanced data than every before on players and teams – and will deliver it in real time to fans, coaches and broadcasters.
